What should i expect in an SAT test?

I have little knowledge on what the SAT test is all about, so if anybody could explain it, I would very much appreciate it. I would also like to know what is an appropriate score.

This is a bad time to post this question (it’s 11:12 pm over here),so I might be posting this question tomorrow at a better time.
Thank you for your answer, I consider buying a book about the SAT to help me study.

Come to think of it, I did take the PSAT… oh, and i heard that there are more college admission test other than the SAT.. I heard of the ACT… has anyone ever taken it?

      For you at least read book there is one please study and next time to take it was out there are also plenty of 1600 got 1380.
      An sat prep class or at this point you have taken an sat prep class or at least read book there are also plenty.
