Is an SAT score of 1800 good for most public universities?

Actually, I just took the PSAT, not the actual SAT. But I’m assuming that score will improve at least a little bit when I take the real thing. So, in your opinion, is that a good score?

By the way, do most colleges look at the 2400 scale or the 1600 scale?
