How does a good education in mexico translated to america (and the other way around)?

Obviously this is an extremely broad question, but i’m more interested in the general translation. If someone received a high school education in Mexico, would they be considered educated in America (or conversely). What are the focuses of education in Mexico in comparison to America? Anything you want to add would be helpful as well. I’m looking at education for a cultural anthropology project.
