Do you have to take an SAT test to get into college? is it a requirement?

I left high school because of sickness I had and after a while I found out about this program where you can get you diploma from home. They sent me the books and I took the test and passed but I never took an SAT test. I’m trying to get into college now and I was wondering if I have to take an SAT test to get into college.
